Toasted Monkey Balls
One of my goals this year was to top the paltry number of blog posts that I did last year. I only did four of them, which shouldn't be too hard to top. Of course, it's November now and I've only done one, so I guess I should get my ass in gear...

Pop Stop: Last and First Edition
I don't want to begin every post with something along the lines of "Boy, it's sure been a long time since I've updated the blog", but I can't help it. Because, boy, it's sure been a long time since I've updated the blog!
Parenthood and workhood and various other 'hoods' have been taking up a lot of my time, but my love of toys is just as strong as ever! Finding the time to share that love is another story...
Anyway, I like doing spotlights on the first and last toys I get each year, so this time I'm going to cover the last of 2015 and first of 2016 at the same time. They're both from a toy line I've gotten into in a big way, even though I only really started back in November. Pop! Vinyl figures, by Funko!

The Randoms (Just Say Something! ANYTHING! Edition)
Hooooooo man. I knew it was going to be harder to find time for the ol' blog, but SERIOUSLY? I haven't done a true post since Feb! There was that one Twitter post, but I haven't kept up with that either. Probably because Twitter's so boring. Anyway, there's a lot of things exciting me toy-wise that I'm itching to get to, but before that I want to get this batch of randoms out of the way, which I assembled out of desperation to just talk about SOMETHING.

Twit
The Plastic Eyeball is now on Twitter! Why? I don't know. I'm hoping it's an easy way to keep up the toy talk while my time to write spotlights on the blog is reduced by child rearing. That doesn't mean I'm giving up the blog; I'm simply adapting to new situations.
Visit the new Twitter page here, and we can keep on keeping on.

Cheap and Skeezy
As if I wasn't already finding it hard to keep up with the blog, I had to go and have a baby and eat up more of my precious free time. Well, technically my wife had the baby, but either way, my free time is gone.

First Toy of the Year (2015)
Wow, 2015! It sounds so futuristic!
My hunt for the first toy of the year started much like my hunt for 2014's last toy of the year: with disappointment. Yesterday the stores I went to were pretty picked clean. Today I went to Toys R Us and found it closed. Do places still take New Years Day off? Well, good for them I guess. Anyway, I hit up Walmart instead. It was also picked clean, though I did come across a Skylanders trap I didn't have - the Oak Eagle of life.

Last Toy of the Year (2014)
I had big plans for my last figure of the year. BIG plans. Well, plans. I got back into Ninja Turtles this year (not that I'm ever really out of it). I finally jumped on the Pokemon bandwagon. And I'm still nuts for Kamen Rider. When it came time to do my last shopping of the year though, I ran into problems. Actually I ran into almost nothing. Everything was steel cleaned out after Christmas.
In a last-ditch effort I checked the Skylanders section, and they were cleared out of everything but ONE figure. Luckily it was one I had never seen in person before.

The 6 Pack
Now that Mutant Mania is finally out in Canada, I decided to do what I always do: Take what already exists and make my own teams. I picked up six of the blind-box style pop cans to make a team called... wait for it... The 6 Pack! I know! I'm so clever! Anyway, keep reading to see who made the team, and if I got any doubles that screwed up my plans.

The Randoms: Teeth of Wisdom Edition
CAVE DECAY
I had my wisdom teeth removed the other day, and I figured this time I'm spending out of commission would also give me a chance to get back to the blog. I'm going to keep thing simple this time and just do another Randoms post. Some stuff will get properly spotlighted down the road, so I'll keep the details to a minimum at parts.
I'm also still a little drugged up on painkillers. I don't think this should be too hard to follow, but forgive me if I ramble...

Hey Kids! Wanna Play With Dead People?
Yeesh, I've fallen behind! So very much behind. The blog's been silent for almost two months! That's... That's just not right. Oh well, let's talk about dead people.
I'm sure I've said it before, but I love shopping for toys when I'm travelling. You can usually find any of the BIG lines everywhere, but it's the smaller, more obscure things that excite me most. Those random little toy lines that you just can't find at home. Extra points if I've never heard of them before!

Eyeballs on Parade
It's anniversary time at the Plastic Eyeball again! I can't believe another year has gone by already. I've been slacking with the posts lately, but an anniversary is as good a reason as any to get back at it.
Now, my blog is called "The Plastic Eyeball", but how many plastic eyeballs have actually been spotlighted here? NOT NEARLY ENOUGH! To mark the blog's second anniversary, I've decided to show off most (if not all) of my eyeball collection. This is gonna be pic heavy, so I'll keep the chatter to a minimum. Some of these things have been spotlighted already, and some will get the proper treatment down the road. Until then, let the Parade of Eyeballs begin!

Springlanders
It's been a few months since my last Skylanders spotlight (in fact it's been so long, the last one was Christmas themed). I don't want to just wait for holidays to do these posts, but until I get to a regular one, here's some Easter Skylanders!

Post 100 (The Randoms)
I've been pretty quiet with the blog for a while, and part of that comes from not knowing what to do for my 100th post. It is a milestone after all, and I was trying to come up with something that would feel special. In the end I decided to go for the opposite and spotlight ten figures that might not otherwise get featured. My toy collection as a whole is pretty random, and yet I still have some figures that are random even among the randoms. The stuff I pick up at conventions are usually pretty random, and even though I really do try to stick to a few certain lines, I always cave in and impulsively grab things on the fly, just because I think they're cool. And when it comes to gifts, I rarely say no to a figure I don't have.
So here are some of the more random figures from my collection of random figures.

Trash Talk
Alexx and I have finally got another post up over at Go! Launch All Eyebot! You should check it out. It's 90's-tastic and shows what could have been for a certain long gone toy line.

Take Your Place in the Inquisition
My friend Brandon (HollidayRespawn) led me to this competition being held by Bioware. It's called 'Take Your Place in the Inquisition', and the winner will provide a voice in the Dragon Age Inquisition game.

My Mixels Bring All the Boys to the Yard
Damn right, they're better than yours! Well, actually, they're mass produced, so they're exactly the same as yours.
Hi.
The first time I came across Lego's Mixels online, I thought they were neat. Nothing all that fancy, but cool enough that I knew I would probably try one or two out. THEN I saw pics of the next two series and knew there was a good chance I could end up getting hooked on these things. So when the first series finally came out in stores… I bought them all.

Skyler
I'd like to take a moment from the toy talk to pay special tribute to a member of my family that we lost today. We got our dog Skyler as a puppy, and from the moment she puked gopher guts on my lap, I knew she was one of us.

HollidayRespawn
A friend of mine started his own YouTube channel a while back, and it's not too shabby!
He told me was going to do a playthrough of XCOM: Enemy Within, and he asked if I wanted my name used for one of his soldiers. Uh, yeah I did! He knows I'm a huge Kamen Rider fan, so he tried to give my character a "Kamen Rider-esque" design. I decided to commemorate my soldier with a special Plastic Eyeball comic (with apologies to Hiroshi Fujioka).
