Secret Agent Robots

Waaaay back in the 80's my brother and I each got an "Alphabot" toy in the lead-up to Christmas.  They were letters that could transform into robots.  My parents couldn't find either a Z for me or an A for my brother Alexander, so they got us an N (which I guess looks like a sideways Z) and a B (which is the next closest letter to A).  I never really knew what the purpose of them was, but I loved them.  Eventually those original two were either lost or sold at a garage sale (against my will), but I never forgot about them.  While doing some research on them last year, I discovered that line had been rereleased in Italy!  This time the figures came out in blind-bagged packaging and actually had more than one series.  The first series was Alphabots Force 2, followed by Alphabots: Mission in the Dark and Alphabots: Mission Galaxy.  Alphabots: Mission in the Dark had glow-in-the-dark elements, while Mission Galaxy had transparent parts.  I found these right at the end of Alphabots Force 2, so I was only able to get the letter "I" from that line, but I did complete the sets of Mission in the Dark and Mission Galaxy.

Implantor (Alphabots Force 2), Illuminor (Mission in the Dark), and Infinitor (Mission Galaxy)

But Wait, There's More!

Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!  I had finally completed my Savage Mondo Blitzers collection, then I go and discover that there are repaints and unreleased figures out there!  Gah! But, that also means that there's more Savage Mondo Blitzers to add to my collection.  Yah!

There were actually 40 Savage Mondo Blitzers released, but eight of the figures in this pic never saw mass production.  The Crazy Eights set rounded out the 40.

Some of the Savage Mondo Blitzers card backs had cut-out ramps and obstacles that you could use with your figures, while others showed off two teams that were never released.  Or where they?

Pronti... Attenti... Via!

It's been a while since I've posted anything.  Can't let myself fall behind...

ANYWAY!

Every toy collector knows that the toy hunt is just as much fun as finding the toys you're looking for.  It's hard to beat a nice bit of anticipation, and you never know what new stuff you may discover while looking for the other stuff.  That can be true with online toy hunts as well.  A while back I learned that Italy is more than just the homeland of pizza; they also have their own toy world going on over there and they have a lot of cool toy lines that we just don't have here in North America.  And if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, I love the weird.  Often time the weird is also pretty gross.  There's one company called Skifidol that does weird and gross better than most.  In fact I think that's all they do.

One of their lines is called Skificars.
