Christmas Town

This one has a lot of pictures, so I'll keep the chatter to a minimum.  For the last few years I've been getting the annual Lego Winter Village sets as they come out, and my little Christmas town is coming together nicely!  I've already stated on the blog here that Christmas is my favorite holiday, which must be why these Lego sets are the only ones I collect consistently.  Well, these and the blind-bagged Minifigures.

Bakery

"Coooo-ooookie crisp!"

Candy stand

Frozen pond and meat shack

Big chunky turkey, because why not?

Park bench to remember the good ol' days

Toy shop

This kid wants that toy robot

I mean he really wants it!

Life size toy soldier outside the toy shop

Pastry stand and giant wreath

Gazebo with musicians and carollers.  That one musician's sax looks like something out of Dr. Seuss.

The big tree in the centre of town

Park bench II. This one's for the kids!

Carrousel (this year's set - which I suppose is Christmasy?)

Carrousel operator

Post office

Mail truck

The winter cottage (complete with woodshed on the outside)

The very make-shift police station that was part of an advent calendar from about two years ago

Police chase

Christmas train (with big chunky candy canes)

Sellin' trees

Another advent calendar set, this time a very make-sift fire station.  Plus a kid with his remote control firetruck.

Santa and his elves

Lumberjack and a big chunky snowman

The igloo

These two limited-time sets from the Lego Store combine to make a scene.

Toys under the big tree.  That Jack-in-the-box is technically a minifigure!

Skiers and a snowboarder

'Nother skier

This guy is wishing you a very LOUD merry Christmas!

Teach a man to fish...

The not wet or sticky bandit

'Nother snowboarder

A boy and his dog

Originally this guy came as half a minifigure to be buried in the snow.  I felt sorry for him and gave him a complete body.  He still gets stuck in the snow from time to time, though.

You never know who you'll come across in the Winter Village!

My big chunky Santas and a stocking on the shelf.  Please ignore the dust...

This Santa Claus and Elf are part of the Lego Minifigures blind-bagged series.  It was nice to finally get a Santa with an authentic hat (instead of the red bandana), and I knew I'd have to build a small collection of elves.  That means I also have a small collection of teddy bears that can be found throughout the diorama.

Here are the other elves I made.

And that's it for this year!  Eventually I want to get some more white pieces to make the ground look snowy (or at least use a white sheet).  That wooden table doesn't really add to the effect, but at least the diorama is up.  I'm not going to lie, I can't walk by it without stopping to stare at it for a while.

I wonder what'll be added next year!

  1. Nice! Great army building of the elves as well; I love the unique faces. All that's missing is someone to SAVE THAT POOR GINGERBREAD MAN!! NO DOG NOOOOO!!

    1. Thanks! I'd make even more elves, but I don't really have the patience to sit there and feel for more bodies. Maybe I'll find some courage later, but who can say?

As for the Gingerbread Man, don't all cookies want to be eaten? I thought I heard that somewhere. I know if I were a cookie, I'd want to be eaten.
