The Randoms: Teeth of Wisdom Edition

I had my wisdom teeth removed the other day, and I figured this time I'm spending out of commission would also give me a chance to get back to the blog.  I'm going to keep thing simple this time and just do another Randoms post.  Some stuff will get properly spotlighted down the road, so I'll keep the details to a minimum at parts.

I'm also still a little drugged up on painkillers.  I don't think this should be too hard to follow, but forgive me if I ramble...

Blockheads

My friend Alexx over at Toys and Tomfoolery recommended the Tenkai Knights a while back, and I finally got around to picking some up.  I grabbed a few sets before Christmas, but I'm waiting for some time to take pictures of them as I build them, so I can do a proper spotlight on them.  In the meantime, I found some blind bagged ones that I never knew about, so these are the first Tenkai Knights I've actually tried out.  How are they, you ask?  Well, I'll tell you.

 

Slime and Cards

The third series of Trash Pack toys hasn't fully hit Canada yet, but is instead trickling out through the line of Trash Pack trading cards.  You can buy the cards either on their own, or including a hidden series 3 Trashie, so I've gotten a few that way.  My friend Alexx from Toys and Tomfoolery hooked me up with some slime sets as well (thanks Alexx!), so instead of doing a true Series 3 spotlight right now, I'll just focus on the the slime and card sets.

I'll start with the cards first since they're my first exposure to Series 3.  Sounds pretty fair!  I used to love trading cards as a kid (I still have my complete Monster In My Pocket card set), so I was pretty excited for these.  Also, the Trash Pack is hardly known for its highly detailed paint applications, so seeing the fully illustrated characters on the cards is nice.

Go! Launch All Eyebot!

And so another chapter begins!  I've teamed up with my fine-feathered friend Alexx (from Toys and Tomfoolery) to create our own toy-themed blog: Go! Launch All Eyebot!

What is an "Eyebot"?  What does it all mean?  Well, I like eyeballs, Alexx likes robots, and we both like toys.  I'll keep working on the Plastic Eyeball here, but I'll also post links to the updates over at the Eyebot whenever Alexx and I decide that two toy-loving heads are better than one for a particular spotlight.

Mirth will ensue.  Let's just get that out of the way right now.

Prizes In The Shrubbery (And Elsewhere)

I was reading a recent post on Toys And Tomfoolery, and I was fascinated by Alexx's "mystery car".  It was a toy car that he found up on a shelf in his apartment that had obviously been there for some time.  That got me thinking about some of the random toys (and toy parts) that I've found over the years, and I decided to share two of the stranger ones.

Gettin' Wound Up

I don't know if these next toys have anything more than passing similarities with each other, but they deserve to share the spotlight.

Yeeeeeaaaah!  Some more eyeballs to show off here at The Plastic Eyeball!  These nearly eyedentical twins were acquired separately over the course of (I don't know how many) years.  They're just your basic wind-up toys that hop across the floor when wound up and let go.  And they glow in the dark!  The more transparent of the two was the first one I got, way back when from a place I can't remember.  The less transparent one was a gift from my friend Alexx at Toys and Tomfoolery.  He sent me a bunch of random eyeball-themed toys, and this one is different enough from my first one that I kept them both.  I love the weirdness of them, so the more the merrier.  Plus, two eyes are just natural.
